Leading a healthy and functional life includes getting stronger.  As we age, we lose 3-5% of muscle mass every 10 years.  Strength training done properly will benefit one's longevity, mobility and independence. I have had the pleasure of working with a variety of people for whom I developed individual strength training programs in order to meet their specific fitness goals.  If you are just beginning to lift weights or are an athlete in need of guidance, I would love to help you on your fitness journey.

CORRECTIVE EXERCISE ASSESSMENT/ CONSULT

Almost every person has some degree of posture and body imbalances, movement dysfunction and compensations.  These imbalances and compensations can lead to decreased flexibility, lack of core strength, joint stability and possible injury. Through the use of postural and dynamic assessments, I can help you discover area(s) of potential limitations and offer guidance for safe movement and strength training options.

EQUESTRIAN SPECIFIC

As a rider, one must be able to maintain a connection to the horse that conveys you are in charge and are strong enough to keep the horse focused throughout the ride. I  personally tailor your strength training program in order to help you create a strong center of balance, endurance, coordination and core strength specific to riding and jumping.

Last year, I had the realization that if I wanted to be a better rider then I had to work on my fitness.  If my horse was in training then I needed to be in training, too.  I met Lynne when I began visiting my gym.  I knew I needed help with what to do and how to effectively work out, but also to be accountable and motivated to work out.  I told her my goals were to be a better equestrian and that I needed help on my core strength, balance and stamina.  She not only determined where I was weak through her fitness evaluation, but also where I was not as weak but still needed help with my form.  Lynne developed a program specific to me and my equestrian needs to help me get me closer to my goals, and she adjusted my program along the way as my needs changed.  I cannot believe how far I have come in her program.  Lynne has been my cheerleader all year and I am so grateful!

Lynne is my fitness scientist. My very first day with her was spent carefully evaluating my form and movements to identify any imbalances. With the utmost encouragement, she pointed out ways to improve my form, then asked what my fitness goals were. A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME

I am a life-long fitness enthusiast.  I am an Army veteran as well as a science and math educator of 20 years.   Because of my unique professional background along with my love of fitness, I offer much skill, empathy, passion as well as a high degree of motivation and accountability to all my clients.  I thrive on designing safe and effective individual strength training programs.  I would love to have the opportunity to be your strength coach.  I have a Masters Degree in Secondary Science Education, as well as NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) certifications in both Personal Training and Nutrition along with specializations in Corrective Exercise and Integrated Balance.
